The story of this deer can be found in full at this link. To recap it, in 1996 I took my first hunting trip out west. I went to Montana on a mule deer hunt in the Power River basin with outfitter Floyd Mitchell. On that five day hunt I saw more deer than I had ever seen in my life, and the hunt ended with me taking a huge 5x4 muley, which now rests in a place of honor over our fireplace.
